How Does NutriSnap Work?

When you snap a photo with NutriSnap, a lot happens behind the scenes. First, your phone’s depth sensor estimates the volume of your food. Then, our AI—trained on thousands of food images—breaks down your meal into individual components and their proportions. Finally, our multimodal model analyzes everything to calculate the calories, protein, carbs, and fat in your meal.

📊 How accurate is NutriSnap?

NutriSnap’s image scanning is highly accurate—about 90% in most cases. However, foods with hidden ingredients, like smoothies or soups, can be trickier to analyze. For those, it’s better to use the “Describe” feature to manually enter what you ate, including any key details. You can also try scanning the barcode or the food label for more precise tracking. If the results aren’t quite right, just tap the “Fix Results” button to tell us what needs correcting. This not only improves your experience but helps our AI learn and get smarter over time!
